Who ?

Henri Culot practices business law at the Brussels bar since 2001; his practice is focused on corporate and financial law.

  • He advises companies, their directors and shareholders, with regard to various transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, or capital restructuring.
  • He assists clients on a daily basis with drafting by-laws, shareholders’ agreements, and a prospectus for introduction on a stock exchange or for the issue of financial instruments.
  • He assists in finding solutions for various issues related to share ownership and the functioning of corporate bodies.
  • He actively works on the resolution of conflicts between shareholders, either in or out of court.
  • His clients are companies of different sizes, which are active in various economic sectors (financial holding, retail, public sector, insurance, cultural sector): his clients are Belgian and foreign companies, some of which are listed.
  • He has specific expertise in the area of international economic law, and particularly the World Trade Organization.

Henri Culot also has an academic career.

  • In 2012 he obtained a Ph.D in law: his doctoral thesis, published by the editor Larcier in 2014, is entitled “Les sanctions dans le droit de l’Organisation mondiale du commerce” (“Sanctions in the law of the World Trade Organization”).
  • He is a lecturer at the “Université catholique de Louvain” (Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve): he teaches corporate law, business law and international economic law. He also lectures commercial law as visiting professor at the “Université Saint-Louis – Bruxelles” (University Saint-Louis – Brussels).
  • He is the author of several publications (books and articles) regarding corporate law and international economic law.
  • He is a member of the editorial boards of the “Revue pratique des sociétés – Tijdschrift voor Rechtspersoon en Vennootschap” (corporate law)the “Revue de droit commercial belge – Tijdschrift voor Belgisch Handelsrecht” (commercial law) and the “Revue de droit international et de droit comparé” (international and comparative law).
  • He is a regular speaker at conferences in Belgium and abroad.
