Who ?

Josiane Meunier graduated from the University of Brussels (Université Libre de Bruxelles) and has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 1 October 1985.

She mainly practices transport law, a branch of law in which she has heavily invested:

As a teacher:
  • at the Institute (road) Transport and Logistics Belgium: the course road transport contracts;
  • at the Institute Cooremans: the course transportation contracts (road, sea, rail, air and inland waterways);
  • at the “Infac” (department customs agents): department of transport and logistics.
As an author of several articles of advise to road transporters in the legal magazines “Transport Info – Kluwer Editorial Office”, as well as “Jusletter Bulletin” ;
Being herself the holder of:
  • a freight driving license D (valid until 29.11.2021);
  • a certificate of competence for the international transport of goods issued by the Ministry of Communications;
  • various certificates obtained at the training of (training modules European social legislation, analogue and digital tachograph and the stowage of road vehicles).
Josiane Meunier has also developed her practice around insurance law, civil and medical liability and compensation for physical damage:
  • by practicing these legal subjects regularly for her clients;
  • by teaching these subjects in the framework of the professional training course for lawyer-trainees;
  • by employing her experiences as a graduated nurse.
Finally, Josiane Meunier is also:
  • a deputy judge at the French-speaking Court of First Instance of Brussels since 1998;
  • a holder of the competency certificate of the High Council of Justice (2010) for the exercise of judicial functions, this certificate is a prerequisite in order to postulate for a full time position as a magistratet;
  • a member of the Bar of Dinant since 2012;
  • a judicial trustee, specifically in inheritance law.
