Who ?
Alex Tallon graduated from the University of Namur and the Catholic University of Leuven. He is a member of the Brussels Bar since 1981. Alex Tallon is fluent in Dutch, French and English.
His career developed through:
functions at the Bar:
- he was a member of the board and later President of the Flemish Young Bar at the Brussels Bar (1994-1995);
- he was a member of the Dutch speaking section of the Brussels Bar Association, treasurer (1995-1998), and from 2008 until 2010 he was President of the Dutch speaking section of the Brussels Bar Association;
- he was a member, as representative of the Dutch speaking section of the Brussels Bar Association, of the General Council of the Flemish Bar Association);
- he is a member of the Deontological Committee of the Flemish Bar Association;
- he is a member of the Belgian delegation in the CCBE (Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe)
activities as a mediator and an arbitrator:
- he is a renowned mediator and arbitrator in civil and commercial cases;
- he is a member and was board member (treasurer) of the Brussels Business Mediation Center (BBMC) – at present bMediation, and of VOBA (Flanders Organisation for Mediation and Arbitration)
- he was member and president of the federal mediation committee in civil and commercial law;
- he is regularly appointed as mediator and frequently acts as arbitrator;
- he is considered one of Belgium’s expert lawyers in the field of mediation (Who’s Who legal).
scientific activities:
- he is the president of the AEDC (“Association pour l’Etude du Droit de la Concurrence” – Belgian Association for Study of Competition Law), and a member of the LIDC (International League of Competition Law);
- he is the director of publication at Larcier of the collection “Competition and Unfair competition”;
- he is an editor of the review ‘l’Ingénieur Conseil’;
- he is the author of several publications in intellectual property law, market practices and competition/
