Who ?
Philip Van Doorn obtained his law degree cum laude from the Antwerp University and an additional master in European law studies from the University of Brussels (VUB) and the “Centre Européen Universitaire de Nancy”, in France. He has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 1986 en of the Paris Bar since 1992 after having worked there in a local firm for more than three years. From 1994 until August 2012 he was a member of the French law firm UGGC & Associés and one of the partners in charge of their Brussels office.
During the first fifteen years of his career, Philip practiced exclusively European and competition law. In this specific area, he is author of several publications (e.g. in law reviews as Cahiers Juridiques et Fiscaux de l’Exportation, Droit et Pratique du Droit International, Gazette du Palais, Revue du Marché Unique Européen, The International Lawyer, Corporate Counsel’s Quarterly, Boston College International and Comparative Law Review and Tort & Insurance Law Journal) and is co-author of collective works such as L’Entreprise face à l’Europe (Dunod), and European Community Law After 1992 (Kluwer). He was in charge of teaching the course « la pratique du marché unique européen » at HEC Paris (campus Jouy) from 1990 to 2000.
Philip joined Praetica in September 2012. In his current daily practice, he deals with matters of commercial and economic law (contracts, advice, litigation and ADR), with a particular interest for issues of competition law and commercial practices.
